Post subject: 99 Concorde starter problem?

I have been having a problem for the last 2 months; 2 brand new batteries later and over $400 in dealership "diagnostics" I'm told I need a new battery. The car will not start, just clicks, and sometimes will fire up after about 1 million tries (not to mention sore fingers after cycling the ignition key).

I've been told by quite a few folks that it sounds like the starter however I've also heard of starters being replaced and still the problem continues.

The extended warranty I paid so dearly for is worthless as the dealership refuses to budge on their "you need a new battery" mantra.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

It very well could be your starter. When people have had their starters
replaced and the problem is still there, it can be other things, like a
relay, ignition switch, or bad/intermittent connection at the positive
jump node. For more info. on the jump node problem, see my post in the
"Problems with 2000 LHS" thread (immediately preceding your post).

It sounds to me like the ignition switch, or the security lockout, if
this is a 'chipped' key, is it?
