98 4runner problem

I had the same problem in my '97 4-Runner. I was powering a portable
air pump with it one day and then it quit working.
There was power in the wires leading up to the lighter. Had the
lighter replaced and it works just fine now. Apparently the lighter
can burn it self out after powering something continuously for a
while. I don't plan on using the lighter to power a portable air pump
in the future.
