Post subject: 98 Sable dies

Just bought a 98 Sable at a tow-lot sale. Car starts and runs well with a battery charger hooked up but dies as soon as the charge is taken off the battery terminals. I'm thinking it's most likely the alternator (which is very easy to get at, thanks Ford) with the battery being a possiblity also.

What say you guys?
