The right front end of my 98 Maxima is making a clunking noise when I
hit bumps and turn the wheel. It also squeeks when I go over bumps at
slow speeds. Would this be the CV joint?

It could be a bad strut mount, CV joint, blown strut or several other
things. Your best bet is to take it to a mechanic and have it
diagnosed.

More likely the upper strut mount is blown out. Open the hood, position
yourself where you can see the top of the strut tower and bounce the car.
If anything moves in the tower, the upper mount is blown.
