My 97 Corolla HAS a low fuel light on the instrument panel, but with my
recently aquired 98 Corolla doesn't have a light...or is it just burnt
out? Can someone with a 98 verify that it does have Low Fuel light?

My '98 Corolla has a low fuel warning light. It's on the right side
side of the instrument panel. It only goes on when the fuel is low.
It doesn't turn on turn with the other indicator lamps when starting.
I once intentionally let the fuel level get quite low when I was in
town and had someone to call, just in case, as I was wondering if
the indicator bulb worked. It did, and I didn't have to call anyone.

I don't know if ALL 98's did or didn't. Seems to me when I was looking at
the '99's years ago that there was an economy model like the CE that might
not have had it. However, knowing Toyota, all of the Corollas were wired
for it, whether or not they had one or not.

Both my '97 and '92 have it and they don't light up at startup (unless
I've let the stock of liquid gold get down to the last gallon or
so...).

I rarely see my light go on. I drive so little now. 14 miles on one day 6
on the next. I'm driving like 54 miles a week now. I do a little more than
that, because I have to go shopping now and again.

Charles of Schaumburg
223,900 miles.

My 98 Corolla is a CE and it has the fuel light. The low end model, I
believe, was the VE. The CE is the middle model.
