I have a 97 Olds Silhouette. My wife called me the other day and said the
drivers side window wouldn't go back up after she put it down, was stuck
about 3/4 of the way up. That night, I drove it and hit the switch, it went
down (Guess I should have hit up!!!) and stopped and wouldn't go up. It is
now stuck 1/4 of the way up. The following day, the same thing happened to
the passenger side window. Any ideas?

I had this happen on a 1990 Eighty-Eight. Was told that
the motor bushings were worn out, so it didn't always make
a connection. This was while we were passing through a
small town on a long weekend three years ago, so they
couldn't get a new motor. But the mechanic told us that
we could just bang on the door near where the motor is (in
my case, low down near the front of the door) to get it
going temporarily. That worked for us until we sold the
car last year. Hope that helps!
