The high beam indicator on my 97 Legacy Wagon stays on when the low beams are on. It is not as bright as when the high beams are on. Also the low beams don't seem very bright. Any ideas?
« Poor ground on one or both low beam units. The high beam indicator lights dimly as it's now the ground return path the the headlights. Find, fix or repair the bad ground »
« Agree with earlier post. You have a bad electrical ground in your headlight wiring somewhere. Check wiring where a ground wire may be screwed down to a rusty area on the car body. »

I've got a 97 Legacy Wagon with the 2.2L engine. It'll get 30-31 mpg at 66-68 mph vs. 26-27 at 74 mph. Needless to say I have been driving the 66-68 since realizing this. I have a friend who just came to visit and drove 60 all the way. Says she got 23 mph both way. Same engine in her 98 Foreste..

I've got a problem with my 97 Legacy wagon: in really cold weather (10F/-12C or below) the brakes are very hard for at least a few seconds. The colder it is, the longer it takes the brakes to work. I've been out in 0F/-18C and had to warm up the car for at least a minute before the brakes are..

« Hi, How old is the brake fluid? More likely it is contaminated with moisture. Flush and refill. Brake fluid doesn't last forever. »
« And it seldom causes a hard pedal. Hard pedal on a cold day is virtually allways lack of boost due to either a frozen check valve, or moisture in the vac. line. -- Posted via a free Usenet account .. »
« Hi, I live in much colder winter out here in Alberta. Never experienced that. Then I always keep my vehicles in original condition no matter how old they are. »
