When I had my oilo changed I was told that I had a leak in my oil pan.
Gasket needs to be replaced. When I checked into this, I was told that
the whole motor would have to be taken out to fix this. Cost about $800,
I can't beleive this. There must be a better and easier way to correct
this problem. Please help.

The leak couldn't be too bad for they told you about it - you didn't
say: "The motor's been using a lot of oil, see if there's a leak". Shops
troll for work, especially dealers whose standards are for every car to
be as pristine as a new car.

Forget it unless you need to add (a lot of) oil between changes.
