hell out there!

I was about to change my front brakes/rotors on my 96 4runner, when I
removed the tire and tried to remove the 2 bolts and 4 smaller bolts
on the caliper when the top of the 4 smaller bolts came out, it
started pissing fluid everywhere. Do I need new calipers, or is this
normal when removing those 4 smaller bolts as oppose to the 2 main
bolts that at attached to the rotor. I guess what I'm asking is ...
do I just remove the 2 large bolts and leave the 4 smaller ones
alone? OR is there a normnal fluid leak when taking these apart? ANy
tutorials out there that might help me???

thanks in advance..
marty

Assuming it's a 2wd, it should be very easy if you want to change
pads. Remove the bottom caliper slide bolt, compress the caliper with
a large c clamp to push the piston back in it's bore (watch the master
cylinder fluid level while doing this, you dont want the M/C to
overflow with brake fluid), pull out the two spring clipes at the top
and bottom of the existing pads, pivot the caliper up on the top bolt
and secure it in that position with a short bungee cord. Change out
pads and reverse to assemble.
Nowhere in normal brake maintenance should fluid be 'pissing'
anywhere. You most likely loosened the brake line block bolt. That
will be a major leak.
Get a Haynes manual. They're like $20 at any major parts house. The
one you want is Haynes part number 92076.
Good luck.
