96 Camry, Rough Idle and Ride

I have a 96 Camry which I do almost all the work myself. My problem isn't fixing things but rather figuring what the problem is. A while back I fixed the air tube which connects the air filter to the throttle box. I noticed the other day after my car was running rough that the tube had disconnected over the years and now there was a direct air opening to the throttle box. I have connected this back only after spraying one of these cleaners in there and wiping it clean.
Now that you know the situation let me describe the noise and other effects of the disconnected device. I can rev the engine while in neutral and after about 1.5 rpm it runs perfectly. While I am in gear the gas just doesn't do anything much. It almost sounds like a two stroke engine with a strong bouncing to the engine. I am wondering if too much gunk built up in the throttle box and if I should just clean it better or have someone do it professionally or possiably it is something else. It seems like a lack of oxygen is getting mixed with the gas and it is just sputtering. Please get back to me when you get the chance. Thank you for your time and considerations, John Z.
