I hope someone can help with this...I pluged a small air compressor in
the lighter plug, only to find the plug was loose...the compressor
worked for a while and when I turned it off and back on the lighter and
radio both died. I have checked all wiring behind the unit, all the
fuses, both in the car and under the bonnet, and the built in fuse in
the radio, but cannot get either of them to work. Any ideas???
Brett. >> Stay informed about: 96 Camery lighter and radio dead |

Does the dome light or trunk light work?
If they're out, it would be the fuse - under the "bonnet" identified in
the Owner manual.
If they're working, check the contacts in the lighter receptacle for
corrosion or imperfect contact. >> Stay informed about: 96 Camery lighter and radio dead |

Is the clock working/lit? The radio and lighter go through the same 15A
fuse. Might want to check the wiring near the lighter socket to make
sure they have good contact.

Thanks guys, I checked the lighter fuse and found it was blown, starnge
that the radio works off the same fuse. Anyway the radio is working,
but the lighter is still not, so I will buy another lighter unit and
see how that goes. >> Stay informed about: 96 Camery lighter and radio dead |
