MPG for 97 Altima - Hello guys, I recently bought a used 97 altima and i just happen to see the MPG and i was shocked to see only 22 MPG on highway. Its a GXE 2.4 lit. I can't believe that. Is that something wrong going on with my car?? Thanks, Abhishek.

96 Altima was idling and wouldn't rev up.
Cleaned the distributor (from outside) after removing cap with electric contact spray, now it won't start after reassembly.

I had the same problem with my altima a while back. If you or a mechanic pull your distributor off check it for oil getting into it. Another way to find out what is wrong is have the code read on it and if it says the camshaft position sensor is shorted then you will have to replace the whole distributor.
