Post subject: '95 Jetta door drops

Still working out issues with this new-to-me Jetta....driver door out
of kilter, doesn't close exactly right, has about 1/4 inch of up and
down play.....anybody experience this and knows the fix for it?

I suggest a local body shop. They will be best able to assess and
maybe just adjust and tighten. Maybe it will be more complex.

Agreed. There are too many ways to interpret 'up and down play'. Could
be the striker needing adjusted, a seriously pranged body, or several
other things in between.

Door hinge pins?!?! I'd say they are worn, no?

2001 Jetta Power Door Mirrors - I have a 2001 Jetta 1.8T. The power doors mirrors only work intermittently. Since I am basically the only driver they don't get adjusted much, but some days they work fine and some days they don't work at all (either no mirrors work, or both mirrors..

jetta 90 door hinges replacement - try to remove pins from door hinges but they seems hard to move, are they supposed to be removed by the top or the bottom? they are really stiffs sorry for the english

2000 Jetta door / lock issue - I've got an issue with my 2k Jetta. I'm driving along, and all of a sudden the dome light comes on, and it starts dinging like I've left the key in the ignition. If I unlock the doors, or open and slam the drivers door, it calms down. Any ideas?
