Post subject: 95' Honda Civic DX braking vibration issue...

We just performed a complete brake job on all 4 wheels on a 95 Honda
Civic DX. New pads, new rotors and new drums all the way around.
This is a job we did ourselves.
The problem is that the car still vibrates when braking. It does not
pull to the right or left, and you don't feel anything in the steering,
but you feel a vibration in the brake pedal.
Also, a few hundred miles ago both CV joints were replaced.
Any ideas as to this vibration? Could there be any other problem other
than warped rotors? If the rotors are warped would this more than
likely be in the front only?

got to use the correct torque sequence. use two [or more] stage, 1324,
1324. preferably with the wheel off the ground for the first time
around. use a torque wrench.
there are other possible causes, but this is extremely common. report
back if this does not work. |

When you replaced the rotors, did you make 100% certain that the hub and
rotor flanges were free of *every speck* of grit and rust? Even one tiny
piece of grit or bump of rust will make the rotor sit slightly askew,
causing vibration.

Before reading TeGGeR's response, we took off the rear wheels and
checked the drums. The drums are not turning smoothly. It's almost
like they were machined off-round a little bit or something. We called
the shop and they said they would turn them for free, as they should
not be that way.
So, that's what we are going to try first. My father-in-law test drove
the car after he finished the complete front end, and it did not
