95 Dodge Neon

I have a 1995 Dodge Neon w/ a 5-speed manual transmission that I drive to and from work. I purchased a 95 dodge neon 5speed manual and it has been running smoothly. however, recently the check engine light came up on it and the only the manual says is to take the shop. I have an idea whats wrong but theres others telling something else so I wanted your help.Ok before when you went to start it it would start fine but would get stuck like between start and run and you would have to move it back yourself so the signals,a/c etc would work.Then it got hard to start y..

automatic transmission is making a growling noise and is now leaking fluid after being stuck in snow. it took some high revs and some rocking to get it out. i cant find any broken lines or holes in pan. i cant locate where the fluid is coming from
