Have you got

petrol
in the tank
being pumped to the injection system
the exhaust should smell of petrol if the engine is not firing.
spark
immobiliser off

etc.

Are there any messages on the check control and as the car been worked on?

Help: E28 Turns Over But Won't "Catch" After 6 Mos Sitting - Help! My '85 535i had a dead battery and sat for 6 mos (under a car cover).
