I just got a 93 Civic LX, my father has owned a 93 Accord EX-R for the past
few years which I've previously driven.
Just wondering if any of you know of good websites to find information
about these cars right down to the details such as engine specs (bore and
stroke, rod lengths, bearing sizes, fuel system specs) Maybe I'm being too
detailed but you get the idea.
Also this little car vibrates fairly noticably in all gears except 5th,
the Accord of my fathers has zero vibration and twice as many kilometers.
Could this be a timing issue, crank bearing/connecting rod bearings issue?
Or just a side effect of a small car with crude motor mounts?

You should take your car immediately to a dealer. They are the only ones who
are experienced enough to be able to deal with this problem.

The only thing that would make me take my honda to the dealer would be if it
was under warrenty and the crank was in pieces in the oil pan. Spending some
time with the motor myself is much more gratifying than the hassle from the
ignorant.

dont worry about it, thats his answer for everything, if something goes
wrong, bring it to a dealer. Have you checked the motor and transmission
mounts? they could be bad, i would definately try this method over stripping
the engine looking for the problem

My wife has been driving a 93 Civic EX for the past 5 years, and all I
can say about this car is nothing but negative comments.

Underpowered, noisy, rattles, vibrating, and not exactly 30 mpg gas
mileage; but that may be due to the 130K miles it has on it.

Auto or manual transmission? 1.5 liter or 1.6 liter?

Everything else you mention is reflected in the low price of the Civic, as far
as I am concerned.

How's the maintenance been on it over these 130k miles?

The long-life of Honda engines is not something reflected in the low price.

Sorry you're not happy with the car. Sad

I checked it out and the mounts seem fine, the vibration was just new to me
and I hear that it is a normal thing so I guess I'll just have to get used
to that.

'93 Accord Transmission problem. - Hi everyone, I hope you can provide me with some basic direction on this problem. My daughter has a '93 Honda Accord LX with approx. 250,000 km (155,000 miles) on it. It has been running great. Today she inadvertantly threw it into PARK when it stalled..

93 Accord idle speed - My 1993 Accord has started oscillating between 900 rpm and 1600 rpm when warm and in neutral or park. In gear it idles smoothly at around 950. In neutral the engine revs up to 1600, drops suddenly, seems to almost stall, then revs up again. I just had..

93 Accord switches to Schaeffer's - I know we just had a big discussion on synthetic oil. I could not find the exact answer in that thread. Please help me on this. I have a 93 Accord with 170K miles. I have been going to a machanic for maintenance. Recently he recommends me swtich to..

93 accord, R134 refrigerant ? - What kind of refrigerant does the 93 Accord uses in the Air conditioning? I can buy a 93 accord with an ac that needs work and I'd like to know. IF it's the old refrigerant that is no longer made (is it R12?) then I probably won't bother. When did Honda....

rear motor mount 93 accord 5 sp - It's looking like I'm going to have to replace my rear motor mount to eliminate the starting shake and the vibration. My manual doesn't say a thing re changing them. Anyone done this? It's pretty tight and I know the bolts are tight. Do I need to..
