My celica slips out of 5th gear - I have a few leads - but wanted to
hear from you guys. It slips out of gear when accelerating or going up
an incline. Im told the trans axle is a hard repair - but then again
it might be a simple common seal replacement - can anyone help?

Sorry, a simple common seal replacement will not cure a manual transmission
slipping out of gear when accelerating. The tranny has to come out of the
car and opened up to repair/overhaul.

You will need 5th gear hub and slider along with new synchros. Not a DIT
job, but doable for sure!
