Post subject: 760 gle auto 2.8 problem

Help after a journey the car will not start I let it cool down between
5 to 25 minuets. I turn the key nothing happens then it will fire up
and drive after the cooling down time till I turn off the engine again
any ideas

Have you tried tapping the starter with a screwdriver or something to
determine if it is stuck or not engaging? Perhaps someone else may know
of a heat specific issue with Volvo, but I always try and start with
the obvious and then work toward the more detailed.
