I am getting tons of email telling me to keep the BO LO in the truck and not use the 700r4. What d you guys..and girls ..think. I hate the shifter on the BO LO.. but my frind has one and says it is reliable, and good for off road. I am not worried about gas and OD is the only thing worth while ..
« Nice thing about a 700R4 is that it has a deeper first gear than a THM350, THM400 or 4L80 (3.06 vs 2.52 for THM350 and 2.48 for THM400 and 4L80 used in GM trucks) THis deeper first gear is a assit a.. »

Changing the fluid and filter in the transmission, and wondered if the use of Seafoam or Trans x transmission cleaner would be of benefit. The engine got hot (220) due to radiator leak which is fixed. Would cleaner help the trans cooler lines as well ? It's pushing 250,000 miles and I would lik..

I have a 700R4 which needs to be rebuilt. I have been told that the tv cable on that particular transmission should probably be installed by a pro. I have also been told that the cost of rebuilding the 700R4 (including paying someone to properly install the tv cable) and purchasing a rebuilt..

Just bought a '92 700r4. Was told it was recently rebuilt and have receipt to show. I dropped it in a 55 chevy w/327 cu. It goes forward but takes alot of RPM to make it want to move in reverse, and this is not always sure to make it move. Any ideas???

Greetings. I want to swap out my TH350 for a 700R4 / 4L60. The transfer case is an NP205. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've read that all that needs to be changed to bolt it in is the output shaft of the new transmission. Advance Adapters sells one that does the job. Question: Does it matter ..
