Hello: I bought the red convertible that was on e-bay mid may. I used
a transportation broker to hire a trucking firm to transport the car
enclosed from Ca to Fl. The price was at least $500 cheaper then the
major transporters. The boys arrived 10.p.m. at a local Walmart. I
did a quick walk around, and drove the car home. Heard a strange noise
underneath, turned out the swaybar ends were pulled out of the bushings
and pointed towards the ground. I believe Bubba truckig secured the
front of the car with a chain around the swaybar. Eventually the
swaybar was pulled out of the bushings. Bubbas bill of lading contract
given to me that night virtually exempts them from a slew of damage
claims.
On a positive note the overall condtion oft he car was very nice-great
interor,great stainless, good chrome,good top,good body and paint,minor
blemish on,fender,excellent trunk interior etc.

You are not the only one that has happened to. The problem is that most
haulers dont take the time to look for something substantial to hook on to.
Worst scenario is with the C/K's, if you don't watch them they will throw a
hook on the lower control arm, and totally destroy them. It happened to me
with the Hawk. I put a set of later year lowers on. Makes shock replacement
a bit easier.

Peg Trucking tells all her truckers to use over the wheel straps just to
avoid that problem.

The good news is sway bar bushings are cheap. The bad news is that sway
bars are a PITA to install, especially the early style ones that don't
mount to the frame...

Just watch that they don't also try to hook through the holes in the bottom
plate on the frame. This is done mostly in the rear and results in the holes
being torn out. The lower plate is too thin to hold the car down.

Bubba's local towing subsidiary (New Jersey Division) did a simmilar
thing to me last winter with my 1950 Packard Eight. The bar was bent
and falling out of the right mount. It's not a big deal. I removed the
bar, hammered it back to shape and re-installed it. Just really sucked
having to lay on my back under the car in the January cold to remove
the damn thing
