Hello,

My wife and I are planning on buying a new 525i, we are in Southern
California. The " suggested retail price " is 48K. Can anyone give me an
idea on how good I deal I can get ? How low they would be willing to go ?

Thanks

Carmine

I'm pretty sure the poster meant $1200 to $1800 below msrp.

Hi,
Maybe I'm missing something but I just got a quote on a 2004 330i with auto
transmission, Premium Package and 522 Xenon lights for $39950.00. Msrp was
$41245.00.
The 525 your looking at must be loaded.

I goofed sorry. I mis-took the 525 for a 325 sorry about that.
As you can see the guy I'm dealing with didn't come off much. I'm still
looking.

I recently bought a 2005 BMW 545i in Houston.....only 6 speed I could find.
Discount vs MSRP was "only" $1,500 but now it seems like a good deal.

Good for you! That would be how I would get one. The six speed will make
this car valuable (especially to enthusiasists) if/when you decide to sell
it.

Seems OK to me on a hot new model that you had to search for. Consider
this... If another thousand (plus or minus) made a big difference to you,
would you really have bought this car? I think not. If it had you would
have bought a nice little Honda or something...

- You are correct Frank..there are 5 BMW dealers in Houston and this was
the only 545i 6-speed I could find on any of the the lots. I would have
happily paid MSRP. I think I got a discount only because I was a repeat
customer for this sparticular salesperson who knows that I have been a good
source of referrals. But who knows for sure?

- The six speed is for me !....I "never" plan on selling this gem and at
present the manual trans keeps the wife out of this car as well.

- This car replaced a 1998 323 is coupe with 5 speed and sport
package.....needless to say the new ride is a "bit" quicker on launch LOL

It's Fred, but we can speak frankly...

Unbelievable... what is this marquee coming to?

Only the salesman...

An added bonus!! But it wouldn't work for my bride. She actually prefers
driving our 325i 5 speed to the 540iA (as do I, except on long highway
trips). Makes me wonder why I ever taught her to drive a standard those
many years ago...

I'd say so!!. I drove a '98 323iC a few weeks ago (yes, of course it was 5
speed) and passed on buying it, partly because the engine seemed a little
lackluster, even compared directly to my '95 325i. I attribute it to the
extra weight of the cabrio and maybe some additional smog stuff of OBDII? I
ended up finding a cherry Z3 2.8L 5 speed. With the low Z3 weight and
bigger 2.8L it should be loads of fun in the twisties.

Have fun.
