Post subject: BMW 318is / window indicator lights Archived from groups: alt>autos>bmw (more info?)
just bought a '96 318is, my first BMW and great fun to drive one
stupid rookie question - are the window indicator leds (down next to the
gearstick) supposed to stay on forever...? if not what have i done (or
not done).... everything else is off.

For some reason they stay on for quite a while after switch off (~10 mins).

just FYI to anybody who is wondering/cares... BMW has traced the problem
to improper installation of a mongoose alarm. also as a result of the
alarm wiring, the arming and disarming chooses doors to lock or unlock
at random, and makes opening the passenger door with key impossible....

96 BMW 318is - I've found the bmw I'm most likely going to get its a 1996 BMW 318is and I was fortunate enough to find one with only 48k miles on it. There is only one problem with it, the right brake light doesn't work so a circuit board or something needs to be..
318i conversion to 318is - just bought a e36 318is engine for my 318i convertable, was wondering how difficult it is gonna be to swap over!! and is there anything i should watch out for..................... thanks

97 318is follows lorry ruts - hi ive got a 97 318is, great car but a couple of annoying little problems. 1 - i can be driving it down a dual carriageway in the outside lane no problem but as soon as i use the inside lane it follows the lorry ruts and i seem to have no control over..
