Just had the engine light come on accompanied by a beep and the "Unblock
Diesel Filter" message. The error comes and goes (goes more than comes) but
I am not sure what it means. Having read various posts on various forums I
am led to believe it could a) just be a filtr replacement or b)a FAP???
filter replacement costing hundreds of pounds or c) something else costing
lots of money. Can anyone help?

When you had the filter replaced did they use the right one or one of
these ones you buy at a super market?it might pay you to go to peugeot
and buy the right one and replace it .

I have never had replaced - I have just started getting the error message. I
was wondering what the message meant. If it is just a filter (like an oil
type filter) where is it located?

Follow your feed pipe up your find the filter in a round canister.or go
back from the pump and find it that way.i think i would replace that
first then go from there,

Speaking to my local garage it may be the FAP filter fluid level that is
low. It does seem to come on after going around corners/roundabouts. There
is no degredation in performance so hopefully I am not looking at having to
replace the particulate filter for £500 plus.

If it was the fluid level low you would get the message
"Diesel additive minimum level"

The one you are getting refers to the FAP I am sure.
I had the same, and took the filter off, and reverse flushed it several
times with boiling water, blowing it trough with compressed air. Eventually
I no longer got any white ash out, so I dried it all off as best I could and
put it back on. Got a bit of steam out when first starting, but never got
the message back.

I took it to the garage and they found that the fluid level was very very
low indeed. They topped it up with fluid from peugeot. After a short drive
the warning light came on again with a message about "filter regeneration
required" (or words to that effect). Read on a forum somewhere that driving
at or above 70 mph for 10 mins would do the same as taking it to a garage to
be plugged into a computer to start the regeneration process. Did this over
the weekend and all seems well so far.

I have a similar problem with 307sw 110 diesel.

Occasional msg saying "unblock diesel filter"

Sometimes there is no power to get up hills - feels like fuel restriction but could be anything. Almost feels like 3 cyclinders only. After a while, the car lurches forward as if a blockage has cleared and the car zooms along again. This event used to be rare, but now almost daily. Then when driving along the car lurches very slightly as if I was playing with the accelorator pedal.

Peugeot have said it might be the turbo, might be particulate filter, might be some kind of solenoids. They want to keep replacing stuff randomly until it's fixed - at my expense!!! on a car that's done 100k miles it's not worth it.

I've had the particulate filter checked and the oil topped up. I've had the cat checked for blockages. It's got full main dealer service history.

If anyone can help it would be great. I would feel bad off loading this car on to anyone else at the mo, but I need to fix it or get rid of it.

Thanks in advance!
