Post subject: Peugeot 306 misfire problem

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my 1998 Peugeot 306 1.4 meridian and was wondering if anyone can help.

I had an MOT done on my car in which they changed both the front brake hoses, my car was brought to my work car park as I work just done the road from the garage. When I started the car up after work it was shaking and misfiring badly, so I took it done the garage and they changed the spark plugs and it seemed to be fine. A few days later I was driving it and it started misfiring again. Before they changed the plugs, the car was misfiring from cold, now I can drive it for roughly ten minutes and its fine, but once it warms up a bit it starts misfiring. I therefore struggle to get any power or speed, getting it up a hill is a nightmare. I suspect that it is a problem with the ignition coil but I am not certain as I know very little about cars.

Has anyone had a similar problem, or can anyone help?

Thanks.

I would recomend that you have a look at the coil pack, if you have a sagem coil pack throw it away. Sagem coil packs are known to be faulty, and only use peugeot spark plugs, the ngk plugs are no good. This should solve your problem.
