hello
I hope someone can help with this one. My 1992 300D runs fine except when I put her in reverse and turn the wheel full lock and then she stalls.
Possible related issues
1. the heater coil light on the dashboard doesn't come on when the ignition key is turned but does come on sometimes after the car is started. Despite this, she will start in sub zero conditions although with some difficulty.
2. the diesel prefilter has been choking up with sludge causing her to cut out every three or four months this started after I ran out of fuel. Recently used an additive in the fuel which is supposed to clean the fuel system, injectors etc. Not sure of the effect yet.
3. Today I stalled her by lifting the clutch with the brake on and first gear engaged. She wouldn't start afterwards until I squirted a "quick start" product into the airfilter. 2 minutes later I had to reverse in full lock, she stalled but wouldn't start again, I was on a hill so I bump started her which worked first time. Once running there is no sign of any problems but after half hour running at 110kmh I dropped the clutch and she stalled whilst she was rolling, I bump started her and carried on without any further problems.
Any ideas?
