What model vehicle? What is the odometer reading? How long and how many km
since the last service?

Things that can cause the problem you are describing are a problem with the
EGR valve, improper ignition timing, a problem with the ignition system
(coil, distributor, rotor, distributor cap, high tension wires, spark
plugs), a vacuum leak, or a problem with the throttle cable.

It could be a primary electrical intermittent failure, or a fuel supply
problem. Like Ray O mentioned, a bit more information would be helpful.
Does the engine continue to "miss" when you push the clutch in and hold
the rpm's at 3000, or only under a load? Do you mean that when you are
accelerating above 3000 rpm it stops and then misses again when you stop
accelerating and reach a steady speed?
