Does anybody have any recommendations on how to fix the wires that run
through the hinges of the wagons? The insulation has broken on one of mine
and the conductor is showing. There doesn't seem to be enough loose wire
just to splice it so I'll need some new stuff. How do you get access to the
inside of the hinges?

Is there a special wire to use that will resist the continuous flexing?

Thanks, Dave

Either IPD or Volvo to purchase the tailgate harnesses also check the
hinges some have a ground wire that brakes between the 2 halves
you have to support the tailgate because you have to remove the hinge to
perform this repair

Is for the New York City Firemen who lost their lives on September 11,2001.
The official count is 343, but there was also a volunteer who lost his life
aiding in the initial rescue efforts. And I will never forget them as
long as I live,
nor should any American.

Just replace the harnesses, they aren't terribly expensive.

To add to this, mark the position of the hinges with either dry erase
marker or masking tape before you remove them, makes it a lot easier to
line them up. Also very slowly move the tailgate through it's range of
motion after tightening the bolts to make sure the surfaces don't scrape
and damage the paint.
