Thought they quit making solid tires in about 1909. My LX with the 17 inch wheels rides like it has solid tires. feel every pebble in the road. do the GLS's with 16 inch wheels ride smoother? Back seat rides like a lumberwagon. I traded in a '99 merc Grand Marquis that got 30 MPG on highway wit..
« My GL with the 16" wheels and Michelin tires rides quite well. Matt »
« not when you compare it to a grand marquis. i have my reserves about the 30 mpg on a v8, though. »
« Sorry, but I don't consider the "land yacht" feel to be a good ride. Yes, I think the 30 MPG is smoke also, but if you drive on the level, at a constant 55 MPH, you might be able to come close. I.. »
« Our GLS rides quite well on the 16" Michelins, but it is definitely firmer than you're going to get on a traditional full-sized American sedan. I have not driven an LX so don't know how it compares... »

I'm curious what folks have paid for their 2006 Sonata LX.. with all the bells and whistles. I'm looking at one that's about $28,900.. which seems awfully high compared to prices from cars.com and even Hyundai's own website. Thanks, Kiran
« $28,900 is about 4 grand over full sticker of $24,895. We just bought a Black 06 Sonata LX with Package 3 yesterday for just over $24K driveout in Atlanta which included TT&L ($300 Ad Valorem Tax an.. »

I am debating buying a used 2006 Sonata LX with 14000 miles. They want 15,700 for the car. The issue is I will get the remainder of the 50k/60,000mile waranty, but I wont get the 100,000 mile ten year powertrain waranty. The local Hyundai dealer says that it is only for the original purchaser. I a..

« One year old car, it's probably a rental as many one year old Sonata's are, 14K miles on a rental = 100K miles on a normal car. A carfax will tell you if it is rental, or just look for scratches aro.. »
« Gee, I don't know about that 14k rental equals 100k?? Personally, I've bought two former rentals from Enterprise. One I drove 225 thousands miles before selling it in good running condition. The o.. »

Hi; I just bought a 2006 Sonata with Homelink. I really like the idea of being able to control the Garage Door from the car instead of having a remote hanging there. I also want to take it a step further and control the family room ceiling light from the car. Any idea what I need to do this? I am ..

« Thanks Edwin! I am really getting excited about the possibilities. I have been looking at the Insteon stuff. Do you know if it is possible to control big current draws like a stove? It would be nice.. »
« I answered most of your questions in alt.home.repair. No, they are not capable of handling an electric stove but if you wanted to, you could use some relays, but now things are getting complicated. »

I've got a 2006 Sonata LX approaching 30,000 miles. Both the Hyundai web site and owners manual say to change the "Fuel Tank Air Filter". I've never heard of this type of part. I've tried to google it and nothing comes up. Anybody have any ideas of what it is and does it really have to be chang..

« and where is the cannister and where can I get new filter? »
« The location of the canister varies by model. On many, it's at the left rear corner of the vehicle. I'd suspect the canister filter will be a dealer only item. »
« That may be correct for the Sonata. There was a thread on one of the message boards about insulating the fuel filler tube to minimize the sloshing noise. Apparently getting at that tube involves .. »
