Well, I'm closing in on 1,000 miles now and am on my third tank of gas. My early impressions of the car are: Pros - Styling is great, but then this is very subjective. Interior room is great for this size (exterior-wise) car. Power is great for a 4 cylinder. Braking is impressive and I like havin..

Things are definitely looking up in the mileage department with the warmer weather. I just got my second tankful of 31+ MPG. I got exactly 31 today and my last tank was 31.02. It looks like the change to synthetic oil cost me 0.02 MPG. Smile I couldn't resist.... With these last two tanks, m..

« What engine/transmission combination do you have? Matt »

« Hitting 30 consistently with your LX would be very impressive as, if I recall correctly, that is the EPA highway rating. You wouldn't expect that unless you were on a long trip. If you are even .. »

Anyone else have a GL Sonata (manual heater controls)? I just got mine this week and am finding that the heater leaves much to be desired. On the floor airflow setting, it doesn't keep my feet warm at temps below 35F and it still blows air out the defroster vents and the side "face" vents. ..
« Well, at least I'm not the only one who's not happy with floor/lower level heating. I've got an LX, and its my knees that are constantly cold. My feet are kept above freezing (never getting hot), w.. »
« Yes, I've noticed the fogging as well. I'm going to crawl under the dash and see if I can design a deflector to force the that comes out at mid-calf to be redirected forward towards my feet. I f.. »

Well, I've got three tanks under my belt now and the results are 27, 29 and 27 again. This is for 70-80% highway driving and 20-30% city, if you call the towns I drive through cities (I live in rural northcentral PA). My cruising speeds have been 55-60. Still too soon to make a call on averag..

« As you probably expect, the gains are largest initially and become smaller as the engine breaks in. My '04 Elantra's mileage started out at 27 and this past summer, I hit 37 on the highway. I doub.. »
