Test drove a 2006 Santa Fe 2.7 and a Tucson 2.7. Both were dealership "demo" cars. (I believe both cars had some type of traction control?) In both cars I noticed a definite "fade" when turning a corner, almost a hesitation until acceleration engaged. This happened on standing turns,as at a stop l..
« I own a 2006 Santa Fe, mind you I dont have traction control. but I dont notice any fade in power at any time.. Pete... »
« I've never noticed anything like this, either. Is it possible you're referring to the ignition timing being retarded to reduce the harshness of the shift? I know this is done for better shift feel. »
« Unfortunately it was very real to my wife and I, since we both drove the demos and compared notes after the ride. To be fair I'll go back and drive them again. The salesman kept wanting us to get on.. »
« I think it's important to drive the vehicle in your own real-world conditions. Then you'll get a feel for how it'll behave for you. Check the visibility and whether you can adjust the mirrors wher.. »

Hello all, I just pickup a 2006 Sanata Fe. I would like to know if there is a loudness setting on the stereo, it show it on the screen but I do not know how to turn it on and off? please spam away, it's probably right there in front of me... TIA Bain
« it only works up to a certain volume.. 19 then at 20 it turns off so ya dont blow the speakers... I also have a 2006 Santa Fe. I replaced the stereo with an Apline system and speakers... Pete.. »

I have a 2006 Santa Fe gls, 6cyl/4spd auto. I have 23000 miles on it. I've had oil changes done at the dealer since i purchased the car new. About every 2500 miles. On the last visit, the mechanic recommended a transmission fluid change. I had it done last week, and the day after, the car started ..
« Maybe you can find a better mechanic. Changing oil at 2500 miles is wasteful. Having the trans fluid changed at 23,000 miles does nothing but make more profit for the dealer. The service may have.. »
« I cannot think of any reasonable relationship with the service work and your symptoms, even if the mechanic was messy. The lack of a check engine lamp doesn't mean that no problem exists, just tha.. »
« It has the 2.7l six cylinder / 4sp transmission. It seems like the rpm fluctuation occurs when it down shifting from 2nd to 1st gear. I also checked the fluid level today when it was at operating.. »
« My original thought was perhaps a stuck EGR valve or solenoid, but since the 2.7 engine doesn't have an EGR, that theory is blown out of the water. Check the air intake bellows between the air flow .. »

22,000 miles on the clock and its going in on 8th April for the second set of new front discs. Front brakes judder when braking at any speed over 20 mph. Also there is a loud crack comes from the right drive shaft when moving forward or back. Garage packed the shaft with grease last time and this ..
« Try a different shop. If you are getting warped rotors and need the second set of pads at 22k, you are either a NYC cabbie (or at least drive like one) or have a problem in the system. Maybe stuck.. »
« There's probably little that can be done about the rotors. Friction variance around the circumference of the rotor due to pad imprinting seems to be the primary cause of brake vibration. After tha.. »
« Not its second set of pads its second pair of front discs. Caravan is only 1640 kg fully laden which is well within the 2200kg towing capacity of the Santa Fe. Car coming up now for 18 months old.. »
« While well within limits, that extra weight put extra strain on the brakes every time you stop. You are nearly doubling the total weight of the vehicle. »

Santa Fe - I'm thinking of buying a new Santa Fe but wonder if I should buy the 2007 or buy the 2006 for a lot less. Is the new Sante Fe design worth the extra money or would I be better off buying a 2006? Thanks.

2007 Santa Fe - Thinking of buying a new Santa Fe. Anyone have any opinions/experience with the 2007 Santa Fe? Thanks.

What is it on a Santa Fe? - I saw a Santa Fe with something like a mirror housing hanging from the roof above the rear window. It is about 8 inch square, color keyed with the Santa Fe lettering. What is it?

A/C on 2002 Santa Fe - Hi everyone! Yesterday, the A/C on my 2002 Santa Fe stopped blowing cold air suddenly. Here in Las Vegas (cold) A/C is a must!! I think the freon may be depleted, but does anyone know of any other causes of this? If it is just the freon, shouldn't it....
