It sounds like your Sienna does not have the engine immobilizer system,
which makes making duplicate keys easy and inexpensive. Just take the key
to your favorite hardware store and have a duplicate made - it should work
in the doors and to start the vehicle.

The batteries in my remotes last for at least a couple of years. Obviously,
battery life depends on how much you use it.

Thanks for the feedback. I paid $75 to a local locksmith for a
transponder key and for them to cut and program it. They had to throw
the first one that they cut in the trash because it could not even
open the door.

I am guessing I now have two master keys, correct? If I loose one of
them then I can always get another one made for about $80.

I will probably get a key fob from eBay and program it myself which I
hear is not too difficult as long as I'm relatively athletic and
patient.
