This vehcial has 63,000 miles on it. about 20,000 miles ago a small chatter started to come from the pulley's. Finnally I took some 1/2 inch heater pipe hose and with the car elvated poked the heater pipe up in the pulleys to find where the noise was comming from.
It was from behind the pulley on the power steering pump!
So since this Buick has Major guard warranty. I take it to a GMC Service Center for repair. I did this because I have heard the same noise on the Pontiac Aztec, as well as other Rendezvous autos.
GMC Mr. Goodwrench states that the pulley is out of alignment and no warrany covers adjust ment. What a CROCK! I stated how can a noise as bad as this, it was so loud when the wife drives it to school everyone looks at her as if the car is going to blow up. I asked them to check the bulletins to see if this is happening on other cars. I asked them to just replace it because if the adjust it what if the design is flawed and the noise comes back. Nothing.
They stated I can pay $170 to have Mr GoodWrench adjust the pulley with a remover tool. Uh no thanks. I have put together long blocks and thought geeze what a crock i can do this.
Please help if there is a bulliten out there or other report dealing with this issue I need to know. Warranty runs out soon, and yes while I can fix the issue my self. I would like GM to acknoledge the problem, maybe others have it.
I also want to take care of any other issues the vehical has.
Thanks for your help. Curtis
