Post subject: a/c 2003 corolla

i am at work so i dont have time to look thru the thousand post in here. also the reason i am here is i am a young woman trying to go to school and everything else so im not ready for a new car note. i am also not ready to go to a mechanic and them look at me as a dumb female and eff me over.

here is my issue. i have a 2003 toyota corolla. Starr has been very good to me. she has never really given me any problems till about a year ago. as soon as i paid her off. lol. the a/c stopped blowing.

in 1/2008 -- it would blow some days and not blow others. but always cold air. i was always thought to turn off everything when turning off the car. so everytime i got in my car i would check to see if it wanted to blow. most days it didnt.

this sounds bad but one time my brother was in my car and the a/c didnt come on (when before it had been) and he kicked my poor baby (right under the glove box) and the a/c kicked on. it stayed on for like a good month and then it didnt work anymore. i cant bring myself to kick my car so im lving without it.
(btw this was about 9/2008)

and then suddently in the winter time it would work. but all summer it didnt. (i live in houston, texas. can you imagine)

kinda like 3 months not working, 3 months working, 3 months not woring and 3 months working... needless to say i am back at the not working and this time its hot air. this is new. it randomly kicks on and when it does its all hot.

also. when my brother kicked it that time. when it started not wanting to work .. it sounded like a plane going down.. like the fan was slowly stopping. (i hope that makes sense)

id appreciate any input. please and thank you
