Post subject: 2002 stratus troublshooting

i'm driving a 5 speed manual and was at a red light...i put it in first and everything was fine went to put it into second and the clutch peddle was limp as a noodle. i don't know if it means a new clutch is needed or if it could be something simpler. i pushed it where i needed it and was wondering if anyone had any advice. i can start the car without pushing in the clutch and if i get it rolling i can force it into a gear but again the peddle is just limp. any advice is highly appreciated. thanks.
