Hi,
I drove my wife's 2001 OBW Ltd and noticed a "grinding" noise when turning
left, only. I did a very preliminary check and saw nothing obvious although
I could feel the noise being transmitted to some of the suspension when we
turned the wheel in a parked position. My first thought was a bum steering
rack (only 60K miles) but no leaks and it only occurs when turning left.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Mike

search this group, or www.usmb.net for 'torque bind'. Since you do not
mention having a problem turning right - could be a bad axle or CV joint
I guess.

New Motor 2001 Outback 4 cyl auto - Hey. The dreaded gasket leak in my Outback probably went un-noticed long enough that I need to start considering worst-case scenarios. The value of the car is about 5,000 at most (75k, needs tires/alignment and a bit of body work), and I need to..

2001 Subaru Outback fuse problems - Okay, so just the other day, I noticed my power mirrors and cigarette lighter don't work. When I check the fuse diagram, they're both on the same fuse, and when I went to replace that fuse, I noticed it was blown. So I replaced it, and sure enough..

Front end oil leak..Again 98 Outback - My 98 Outback began leaking oil from the front end at around 86K miles. I took it to my Sub dealer and had him replace the timing belt, cam seals, crank seal, oil pump seal, water pump and thermostat. This was in July 2004. Now I'm getting the same..
