Like I said before my wife's the Toyota person, I'm more of a Honda person, but anyway to make sure I'm happy every night we have bought 2001 Toyota Corolla and recently 2007 Toyota Camry SE V6. Ok, my wife had a 1990 Toyota Corolla and never have a problem. We drove it till 300,000 miles and nev..
« Let me get this straight. You're complaining that you needed a new battery after a completely trouble-free100K miles?? Cathy Next, »
« Well, the Engine belt (Timing Belt, or the Accessory belt...?) were bound to be replaced too, and fall under 'normal maintenance', as does the battery. Almost 6 years is good for a battery. Yeah, t.. »
« I'm in agreement here! Everything you mentioned is a maintenance item, except for the cat. Batteries don't last forever. You're lucky yours lasted as long as it did. Also, Toyota isn't the onl.. »
« Also, I'm nearly certain the '01 Corolla has a timing chain, not a belt. Toyota switched from timing belt to chain with the 8th generation models that debuted in 1998. I am curious as to which belt .. »

2001 Toyota Corolla. Just happened that both low beams stopped working. High beams still function It is unlikely both bulbs went. I checked fuses that I know of: 2 red 10's in the forward fuse box. I have two guesses and would rather narrow it down to one, or even know if it something else. I thin..
« I would invest in a volt/ohm meter or 12 volt test light before I invested in any replacement parts. Check for voltage at the low beam light connectors. It is more likely that both low beams burn.. »

2001 Toyota Corolla CE, 1.8L, AT, 124,000 miles. For the past two years or so (40 K miles worth), the car has been eating about 1Q of oil every 1 thousand miles. So I've been just checking the oil regurarly, and adding it as necessary (5W-30 dino.) Would this kind of oil consumption be considered ..
« Your car is consuming oil at an unusually high rate. Loss is either by consumption or leakage. Did Charley's inspect the spark plugs, cooling system, inside of tail pipe, emissions test, inspect t.. »
« Now, most of my experience with Toyotas involves 80's models, but I did have this happen on three Toyotas. Check the engine bay and underneath the car for oil spray. What had happened to three of my.. »
« That is definitely NOT normal. Take it to another mechanic. For comparison purposes, I own a 2002 Tacoma, 60k miles. I still have the first quart of oil I bought when the truck was new. I've used h.. »

Hi I need to change my ignition swtich. I have obtained a new part and would like to know how complicated it is to do. Am I better off taking it to the garage, or is it worth a go? :?

http://Hyundai-SantaFe.autoboardz.com/2001-Toyota-Corolla-wiring-problem-ftopict248803.html (2001 Toyota Corolla S wiring problem)
I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla S. I recently installed a new stereo with the help of a co-worker, and since then neither my dash lights nor my tail lights have been working. My brake lights and hazard/turn lights work just fine, but the rest just aren't on. Unless I'm turning or braking, I'm pretty ..
« Remove your new stereo and match the wiring back together and test to see if the issue is resolved. If so, make a note of the wiring. Has the harness been clipped out? I don't know why people just d.. »
« Try hachiroku's suggestions. I believe that there are 2 fuse boxes for your car, one under the driver's side of the dashboard and one in the engine compartment. Make sure that the rheostat for the .. »
