http://Toyota.autoboardz.com/2001-CTD-auto-tranny-problem-ftopict207291.html (2001 CTD auto tranny problem)
I have a 2001 Ram 2500 with CTD, and I believe the 46RE tranny. 160k mileage. Recently the tranny has started doing tricks, somewhat consistently in colder weather. After driving just a little (a few blocks), if I go to reverse and back to forward, like to turn around in a tight place, the tra..
« Sounds like $2000 of rebuild to me »
« In a 2001 Cummins truck, you have a 47RE. You should be able to get trouble codes by doing a key on/off three times, then leaving it on and watching the odo for the "P****" codes. Also, you don't .. »
« To you that's probably what it would be. »
« That about covers it. »

http://Toyota.autoboardz.com/Plastic-Interior-Parts-ftopict208549.html (Plastic Interior Parts Question)
I have a 2001 Ram 2500 truck and several interior plastic parts have broken lately, fuse panel cover, overhead light lens, overhead storage cover. The click tabs break off. If I buy OEM replacements, do you think it's likely that the parts were produced years ago, possibly meaning that they woul..
« No guarantee, obviously. However, the OEM replacement parts have probably been sitting in a stable environment and not experiencing the same temperature extremes as your truck cab. Ralph »

Question for the group, I have a 2001 Ram 2500 with a black decal between the window and the door frame. This has started to peel and i need some suggestions how to remove the whole decal without messing up the paint underneath? Thanks for any ideas
« Heat the decal with a heat gun set on low or use a hair dryer. The heat will soften the adhesive so that you can remove the decal. »

Any ideas on how to confirm a coil is bad? On my wife 2001 Ram 2500 we have had numerous problems we changed the cam and crank sensors and as well as cap and rotor and wires. This Summer she changed the distributer itself trying to cure the problem and she thought she had it cured. The truck..

Anyone out there know which wires feed the speakers in this trck? I'd rather not have to remove the door panels and be able to connect the speakers currently installed under the dash. I can go on and explain why but I figured I'd try to get a quick simple answer first. And yes...I did consider s..
« Ok, I found the old speakers and it seems the amp is integrated into the speaker. Large 10 pin conn that comes from the radio/cd player. I'm wondering if I can use this amp to power the speakers d.. »
« Laz, ya might want to talk to Larry (AZWiley). He's the guy ya want on radio and stuff, He's on the chevy group. Roy »
« Try here »
« If it's the Infinity system each front door speaker has an amp mounted on it. If it's a QC, the rear door speakers are wired through the front door speaker amps too. The head unit doesn't have eno.. »

This truck has the Cummins diesel and 96k miles, second owner since 86k. Rotors were obviously never turned, just pads replaced since the 4 retaining sheet nuts were still on the studs and the bolts holding the shoe carrier still had the factory loctite on them. Both rotors are scored but more on ..
« If it ain't broke, don't fix it. As for the pad wear, that may be due to the calipers not sliding properly due to lack of maintenance. -- If at first you don't succeed, you're not cut out for sky.. »
« Thanks Tbone, The caliper sleeve was free and the boots and retaining bolts both had anti sieze on them. The "anti rattle" hardware for the pads did not have any kind of lube. could this be the cause? »
« It is a dealer item and comes as a package. At least it did a year ago. »
« The uneven wear could be the result of the pads hanging up (grease the slide points for the pads), the caliper hanging up (clean, inspect, and re-grease the caliper slide pins), or residual pressu.. »
