2001 L200 double cab pick up - black soot smoke from exhaust

I have a diesel L200 pick up and when I start it there is dry black sooty smoke coming from the exhaust and also when I accelerate it leaves the same trail behind.

I have used Redex and even paraffin mixed with my diesel to try to clean it out. I've checked the air filter and it seems fine.

Any assistance would be greatly received.
