Post subject: 2001 Ford Explorer Sport

Here lately, I have noticed that when I put my SUV in park, the RPM goes way down to like 100...and today, when I put it in park, the car just cut off. I do not experience this problem every time I put it in park, but most of the time I do....today was the first time that it had every completely cut off though. What could be going on?
