Need suggestions about transmission problems in a 2000 Ford Taurus Wagon. I have had the car about a year. I have not noticed any slipping or problems. When pulling away from a stop sign, the car just quit pulling. I think I heard or felt a small pop but I'm not sure. My brother removed the tires ..

« Sometimes they will move OK id in L (or D1) but not in drive as well. The transmissions on Taurii have a reputation for being fragile. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from »

How do you know when to replace the struts on a 2000 Taurus? We have 99,000 miles on it?
« When it starts handling badly.. Like if you are driving down the road and you hit a bump and the wheel keeps bouncing. Quick test, jump on your bumper a couple times, and then jump off. If your ve.. »
« Ok about that note on my truck, I forgot to mention that I was talking about shocks on my truck, but since they do the same job as stuts on a car, it would be the same thing.. OK.. LOL »
« More than 1/2 a bounce for me on the Taurus and it's going in for replacements. I won't put up with more than one rebound. Still originals, & tight, at 180,000 mi. Rob »
« Be careful here. Have the springs in the front been replaced? i had a 2000 and it had a broken coil at the spring seat. I found it out by sticking my hand in there and finding a sharp, broken end.. »

Hello; My Taurus doesn't put out any heat. And with another Minnesota winter coming, I need to get the situation fixed asap. So far I've had the coolant system flushed and the thermostat replaced. I've had the heatercore checked and it is fine and not clogged. I've also had the fan, vents, and t..

We have a 2000 Ford Taurus and the windshield wipers don't work. We've checked the fuse and relay, which are fine, and the wiper fluid pump works. Is the problem more likely to be in the wiring to the wiper motor or the motor itself?

Hi, when I try to use the wind shield cleaner, I can hear the pump operating but only a few drops of wind shield cleaner fluid comes out from the nozzle. The spray is so weak that it doesn't make it to the wind shield. Yes, I have checked to make sure that there was wind shield cleaner fluid in th..
« The most likely thing seems to be a clogged nozzle. Look at the nozzle and see if anything is clogging it. Bits of leaves and stuff can get in there. Jeff »
« Thanks Jeff, I took a look at the hoses and it turned out to be pretty deteriorated. I replaced one section of the hose (the one that I can see under the hood) but there seems to be another area tha.. »

« It might be slime on the pump intake filter. I don't know if the Taurus is affected by this, but my Mondeo certainly was - some kind of blue slime seemed to thrive in there, and it seems to be a .. »
