1997 mitsubishi carisma 1.8 16v cutting out

I have had my carisma for 6 month and had no bother with it so far but recently it has started cutting out.
The first incidence it started first time but nearly straigt away cut out and the engin manegment and ABS light came on but started again fine, about 10 miles down the road it cut out again and the headlights went off and the engin manegment and ABS lights came on again but back to normal in about a second.
Next day tuner on ignition and nothing not even lights so tried again and started fine.
Any ides on this proplem??? im presuming its electrical and have cheaked conections and the earth.
