Post subject: 1997 VW Cabrio alarm will not allow car to start!

Help! The alarm on my 97 Cabrio will not allow me to start my car! To start, both locks on either side doors are broken and have been for awhile... about a month ago the same thing happened and all I had to do was turn the key in the trunk to disarm it and the car started right away. then about 2 weeks ago after having to jump the battery the alarm went off again and again i was able to easily disable it through the trunk... now no matter how many times I disable it through the trunk, the alarm still won't allow me to start the car.... any ideas???
