got no info. Im going to start with a new filter and maybe try to checke
fuel press. Does anyone have a similiar experience that might help?

check fuel pressure-make SURE it's up to spec's. Unsure exactly what
that number is on a 2.2 but someone out here will! Suspect fuel pump
but troubleshoot first as there are other possibilities. JP

I am suspecting the fuel regulator. Is there an easy way to check it-put
vacuum on it or??? How do they act when they go bad. Truck quit all of a
sudden. Fuel filter is new. I would like to find the shrader to check the
press but cant find it. Didnt see it on the fuel rail. The engine is a 2.2
liter 4 cyl.
Thanks everyone.

Try a squirt of ether on the air cleaner. If still no go, it may
be a timing problem. Slipped or broken timing chain (or belt?).

i HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, IT WAS MY FUEL PUMP. i DID THE SAME BY
CHECKING THE FUEL THE FUEL LINE ON ENGINE SIDE AND i HAD SPRAY. bEST
WAY TO TELL IF YOU HAVE FUEL DELIVERY IS TURN THE KEY ON WITHOUT
ENGAGING THE STARTER, IF YOU HEAR A WHINING SOUND IT MEANS THE PUMP IS
WORKING, (THE REST I LEARNED FROM MY BUDDY WHOM IS A GM MECHANIC) THE
NEXT THING TO CHECK IS CLOGGED FUEL LINES FROM FUEL FILTER TO INTAKE.
tHE WAY T DO THIS IS TO LOCATE THE FUEL DELIVERY PRESSURE RELEASE WICH
IS LOCATED ON THE FUEL LINE/RAIL WHICH RUNS HORIZONTALY ALONG THE FRON
OF THE ENGINE. IT WILL HAVE A BLACK CAP THAT YOU WILL UNSCREW TO
UNCOVE WHAT LOOKS ALOT LIKE A TIRE INFLATION VALVE. WITH THE KEY ON
USE A SMALL SCREW DRIVER AND PRESS THE CENTER OF THE VALVE, IF YOU GET
A IST OF GASLOINE THEN YOUR LINES ARE CLEAR. THE NEXT STEP IS TO HAVE
THE FUEL INJECTORS CHECKED, I STRONGLY SUGGEST HAVING A CERTIFIED
MECHANIC DO THIS AS THE IMPROPER REMOVAL F THE INJECTORS WILL
DEFINITELY DAMAGE THE JETS MAKING THE INJECTOR COMPLETELY USELESS.
HOPE THIS HELPS

I tried to squirt some starting fluid into the throttle body. nothing. It
did pop through the throttle body a couple of times. I stood back and
watcheed the throttle body as it cranked. It was blowing OUT the air horn a
couple of times each revolution. There isnt a eal easy way to check it unless
you take off the timing chain cover but Im going to say it is bad. You might
have something there stormin.
