1995 Sentra Dies Without Idling- Help!

I have a 95 Sentra that I've been having some serious problems with the last week.

It started last Thursday. I had just taken a friend home, and when i went to start my car it turned over and started fine, but then died immediately without even idling. Pressing on the gas didn't make any difference. I went by about 12 hours later to work on it some, and this time when i turned the key it wouldn't start. It was turning over (i think) but not starting, same as it does if I'm completely out of gas.

So i worked on it some, and all i found that could be wrong was a burned out fuse. Replaced that, but it didn't seem to make any difference. Towed it to a shop Friday afternoon. On Monday morning i got a call from the mechanic, saying that they decided to try and start it just to see, and it ran fine. they left it running for about an hour with no problems. Just in case, i did have them replace the fuel filter which they said looked a little dirty. I picked it up the next morning and it ran fine, drove it for a couple days with no issues whatsoever.

And then tonight, it did EXACTLY the same thing it did last Thursday at my friends house, started fine, but stalls before it begins idling!

I am totally confused here! Does anyone have ANY clue as to what is going on with my car???
