You either have an alternator that is not recharging the battery
properly... or you have a constant current drain on the battery.
From your story... a new battery going dead overnight indicates to me
that you have a heavy constant drain on it. To check for this...
disconnect the positive battery terminal first. Recharge the battery
with an external charger. After the battery has recovered, insert an
ammeter in series between the positive batt terminal and the positive
batt post. You will most likely be able to find a small handheld
multimeter from a neighbor to be able to perform this test. Currents
in excess of about 100mA would be considered a problem. These currents
could be caused by... but are not limited to... a partially shorted
diode in the alternator... or a glove box or truck light that is not
shutting off.
