1994 BMW 325i massice oil leak

I have a massive oil leak in which my BMW mechanic wants mucho dinero to rip apart engine. It leaks about a quart every two weeks. It appears to be seeping everywhere from under the exhaust manifold down to the oil pan. It got so bad that is was choking out the engine mid idle by getting into the exhaust and the mechanic has recommended I disengaged the blow-by. I am not that savvy when it comes to cars but need to keep running. Please help and will add pics later if possible.
