hi
i am a brit in need of help. i just bought 1993 109k camry auto.
it wont kick down! all else is fine. it will rev in low in 1 st gear
to the red line, but in auto it will not kick down at all. i
wondering if its a knackered gearbox. ecu or what!! help...

On the 4 cylinder there is a second cable at the throttle body that
runs down to the transaxle and assists in downshifting.
Make sure yours in connected and adjusted properly.

Adjust it to have slight freeplay. You should find more precise
instructions in the manual.
While you're doing all this, I would first pin the gas pedal to the
floor and adjust out any freeplay at wide open throttle, then adjust
the transmission cable if needed.

Camry auto transmission removal ? - I'm working on removing the automatic transmission/transaxle from my 1993 Camry 4 CYL. How does it come out ? Does it come out the top or bottom ? Does the subframe need to be lowered or removed. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Ed
