Which vents? White smoke from the exhaust _usually_ means a bad head
gasket(s). White smoke (steam ???) from the interior vents would mean
a leak in the heater core. Steam from under the hood means an external
coolant leak somewhere, or perhaps an overflow. Chronic coolant
overflow and subsequent overheating is probably a head gasket leak.
Coolant leaks to the outside world are addressed by identifying the
leak and tightening/replacing the suspect components.
