Proud owner of '91 320i manual (

) ) here

.
Car has now 178 k km, I have it since 166k km, that is around 5 months of
ownership. '91 was the year E36 was introduced, as well as M50 2,0 engines
(150hp, the one you are about to buy). At 1993 came M52, VANOS technology
engine.
Don't know if this is your first Bimmer (I drove a E34 2,0 (M20 -
129hp)before), but if you think of a car more than just a transport mean
from point A to point B you will probably love the car.
I cannot think of any major engine problems, at least I never spotted them.
Fuel pump (probably it sounds funny, but mine has "good" a "bad" times

)
& water pump and problem with cooling fan is something you might expect.
Possible expensive problem that was known among E36 drivers is wheel tooth
rack (new one is ~1000 eur ??? ).
Another great (and expensive) feature is suspension. Maintanance cost
dearly, but it pays back. But there is nothing special to look for, if
something is wrong, replace it. If you get the opportunitiy to push the car
to the limits, you will see what I'm reffering to

. Mine has Snitzer
suspension and there are just few cars of simillar class than can keep up
with me when it comes to speeding round corners.
And some general info; 9,9 0 - 100km/h, 214km/h top speed. My average
consumption is 10 - 11l pre 100 km.
My opinion is you have watch that car wasn't crashed and that it was
maintained. If that is all right, buy it, enjoy it
